5 Great Apps For Watching TV Shows On Your Android Phone

The following is a guest post by Nancy Baker, enjoy!

I wanted to let people know about a few great apps they can use to watch TV shows on their android phone. I’ve tried to stay away from some of the more popular ones to be a little different.

We still call them phones but we should really call them mini-tablet computers. There isn’t much that little gadget that lives in your pocket can’t do. You can even download some great apps that allows you to watch amazing TV shows from all over the world. I don’t know if you can remember those little pocket TV’s people used to carry around 15 years ago, but android phones are about a million times better. Let’s look at those apps you’ll need if you want to watch those cool TV shows.

TV.Com (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rhythmnewmedia.tvdotcom&hl=en)

TV.Com will let you watch a ton of great TV shows from a few select networks and everything can be streamed straight from your phone. You will have access to full shows and you can use Wi-Fi to stream them, or if you’re out and about you can stream them over your cellular connection. Everything is free so you don’t need to worry about getting your wallet out, but because you don’t pay anything you will have to watch ads that appear before the TV shows start which can be a little annoying.

BBC iPlayer (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=bbc.iplayer.android&hl=en)

The BBC is huge in the UK and some of the television shows on there are magnificent. If you ever find yourself in need of a little Dr Who you will definitely want to download this app. You’ll be able to watch live TV plus there is a huge back catalog of shows you can dig into There is only one problem when using this app outside the UK. You might not be able to watch anything, but don’t worry because you just need to go through a proxy server and the app will think you’re inside the UK.

Eurosport Player (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eurosport.player&hl=en)

Some people would rather sit and watch sport instead of all those boring daytime dramas, so if you’re one of them you should look at the Eurosport app. Eurosport is home to some of the most diverse sports in the world which comes in handy if you’re into the sports that aren’t so mainstream. If you want to stay up-to-date with all the latest European football from the comfort of your android phone it’s another reason to use this app because it covers all the top leagues and competitions.

SPB TV (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.spb.tv.am&hl=en)

SPB TV basically converts your android phone into a mini-television. When you switch the app on you’ll be able to watch a lot of public TV channels and you can switch between them really quick because they launch within seconds. The app has won awards and it’s not surprising because so many people from around the world use it on a constant basis. If you have a good internet connection you won’t have any problem watching your favorite shows as the quality will be fine.

Crackle (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.gotv.crackle.handset)

Crackle is another completely free app where you can watch great movies and TV shows. There is no chance you will ever get bored because the team update the app with around twenty new pieces of content each month. You will be able to watch everything on your phone, or if you prefer a big screen you can watch them on your android tablet. The app only works in a few western countries including the US, so if you’re traveling around the world you might not be able to watch anything.

Which ones do you like?

Do any of these apps excite you? There are actually a number of other more popular ones, but I thought it would be good to look at some you might not have heard of. If any of them sound like a good fit you should download them and test them out.
